The Sonatest VEO 3 is a high-end, versatile phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) instrument used for non-destructive testing (NDT) of complex materials and welds. Key features include a 32-channel phased array beamformer with TOFD capabilities, two conventional UT channels, and advanced imaging like Total Focusing Method (TFM) and TFMi™ for high-resolution, 2D and 3D defect visualization. Supplier: Sonatest Ltd.
For Phased Array inspection the Veo3 includes a PCAP touch interface, user templates, and, most importantly, live TFM with up to 6 scans simultaneously. It has a selection of resilient and powerful configurations to cover for a range of non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. The detectors are designed with the end-user in mind and concentrate on providing accurate, real-time results. The units also offer accurate and dependable measurements to improve your inspections efficiency whether you’re doing composite testing, corrosion mapping, weld inspection etc.
All which have the capability of being field upgradable remotely on the hardware, enabling the user to immediately unleash the strength and adaptability of an increased quantity of PA channels.
All units come with the TFM Option as follows:
Superior Digital Technology
The Veo3 has unparalleled processing power and improved data throughput. With improved digital signal processing and an amazing 32 channel PA beamformer that offers remarkable SNR, it produces quick and precise results.
Because the Veo3’s 64-bit Linux operating system can rely on a quick 128GB SSD memory capacity, which enables one to capture enormous amounts of data in one acquisition file, data file size is not an issue. The Veo3 is unique in that it offers real-time multi-scan/multi-technique capabilities thanks to its cutting-edge technology. It is now feasible to view TFM, PA, and TOFD simultaneously.
Easy-to-use Workflow and Menus
Setting up and using the user-friendly menu system quickly becomes second nature because it is application and workflow driven. While optimisation suggestions guarantee that the Veo3 always operates at its best, integrated help and wizards assist the user in setting up the scan. Standard features include wedge delay, TCG, DAC, TOFD configuration, encoder calibration, and quick and effective wizards for sound velocity.
FMC/TFM
TFM intermodel (TFMiTM), which was created in collaboration with Holloway NDT, allows the Veo3 to integrate up to four live TFM modes. The intricacies of the faults have never been this close to reality when compared with traditional PA inspections.
Characterising the kind of flaws is now simple. In fact, this method has shown better weld analysis results.
