A single cavity lead shielded container for the emergency containment of damaged or cut radioactive source assemblies or sections of cut guide tube containing the source assembly or source holder.
The cavity is 75 mm deep and 60 mm in diameter and can accommodate cut cable and link-type source assemblies with activities up to 100Ci Ir.192.
The lead shielding is encased in a mild steel pipe with mild steel top and bottom plates. The lid of the cavity is lead shielded and is secured to the top plate by three M6 wing nuts.
