Solve the critical problem of radiation safety and scattered radiation. Constructed of high density materials collimators are essential safety accessories for the industrial radiographer, providing shaping and direction of the radiation beam during source exposure. Supplier: GammaTec NDT Supplies SOC Ltd
Most collimators are constructed of Tungsten Heavy Alloy for maximum attenuation. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes in both directional and panoramic formats. Directional beam options typically include variations from 30° thru’ 90°.
Integrated Shielding: Provides effective shielding in non-target directions to reduce unnecessary radiation spread.
Operational Connectivity: Units connect to the end of a guide tube or directly to Gamma Ray Projectors to focus the beam toward the film.
Controlled Area Reduction: Significantly limits the size of the exclusion zone during exposure through directional collimation.
Enhanced Productivity: Reduced barrier distances allow non-radiation work to continue in close proximity to the inspection site.
A collimator is used to direct and shape the primary beam of radiation whilst providing shielding in all other directions.
Tungsten provides superior shielding and stopping power in a smaller, lighter package compared to lead, making it ideal for portable field applications.
