Detailed Overview

A six-channel lead shielded container for the emergency containment of up to six radioactive source assemblies. The channels are ‘J’ shaped and can accommodate cable and link-type source assemblies with activities up to 100Ci Ir.192.

The lead shielding is encased in a mild steel pipe with mild steel top and bottom plates. The channels are fitted with stainless steel 1” x 18TPI type connectors, to accommodate a guide funnel or source transfer tube, and secured with screw-on channel caps.
